CS215 evaluation (October 19, 2003, 0) - Effect:
The modules were clearly explained and the engaging story helped motivate the students to work on the project. The students appear to have greatly enjoyed the exercise, particularly the creative background story that provided the context for their work. By reviewing other people’s code, the students learned more efficient ways of performing the given task.
Second sem thoughts (January 19, 2004, 0) - - Students gain confidence by going through a number of reading
exercises before proceeding to programming exercises.

cooperate while still giving them time to practice on their own.
- Candy is a good thing, particularly during examinations.
- All-or-nothing exams are easy to check and are particularly apt for
Krav maga (February 26, 2007, 0) - One of the things my mom occasionally reminds me about is the need for
self-defense classes. Yes, even in Toronto. Not only is it important,

First day of classes (November 12, 2003, 0) - education
What worked: CS21A and BlueJ
I have a small class of 8 students. Most are taking CS21A for the
first time because they’re interested in shifting into either CS or
MIS; this course will help them decide if it’s worth it! =)
BlueJ was a great idea. The students quickly got the hang of creating
and manipulating the different objects.
