Finding a niche

Enterprise social bookmarking. That’s what I’m into. Plenty of interesting questions and opportunities. It’s not going to be my main thing forever, but I’ve got an intuition that there’s still so much benefit to find in that space.

Also, technology evangelism. I can very much see myself doing tech
evangelism for the next ten, twenty years. For that one, I need to be
close to the people I train—but the world is changing, and it’s not
just North America any more. I wouldn’t mind being based in Asia, for
example… ;)

I like that more than serial startups. =) As for startups: I don’t
mind just convincing someone else to teach people how to get started.
I don’t have to teach it myself. I just have to connect people who
want to learn with people who can and want to teach…

On Technorati:

Happy girl

Did lots of fun things at IBM. Being there more than once a week
definitely changes the dynamic. Blogging becomes more of a
conversation. Things stay fresh. And I don’t fall off the front page
that quickly… =)

Random Japanese sentence: 虎を大きな猫というなら、同じように猫を小さな虎といってもよい。 You may as well call a cat a small tiger as call a tiger a big cat.

Comfort food: SPAM

Here’s incongruity for you: jasmine rice and SPAM. Yes, rice is rice,
but jasmine rice is soft and fluffy and sticky and wonderful, and SPAM
is SPAM. But SPAM is one of my comfort foods, and today I just didn’t
have the energy to cook anything fancier. Ah, SPAM. SPAM reminds me of
breakfast at home – fried rice, fried eggs and SPAM, SPAM, SPAM…

Random Japanese sentence: テーブルに猫の足跡が付いている。 There are footprints of a cat on the table.

Meeting

Ack. I don’t think I’ll stick around for pub night. I’m _starving_, and I have really low energy right now – feeling rather sick…

I don’t even think I’ll get much studying done tonight. I’ll sleep early and wake up tomorrow.

I wouldn’t have minded a quick, one-hour meeting, but this meeting’s
twice as long as advertised. I understand that they’re really working
through important issues, but I think I’d rather stay on the list and
help out whenever they need someone to help crimp or something like
that…

Waah. And it would be impolite for me to pick up my computer and head out _now…_
