I want to learn how to draw better

Someday I want to make things as pretty and communicative as Mike Rohde’s sketchnotes, Erica Glasier’s blog posts, Franke James’ visual essays. I want to capture scenes like those in urban sketches.

I want to be able to see more clearly, imagine more vividly, and create more expressively.  Looking forward to making a habit of drawing. It’ll be fun!

Aw, thanks, Sacha! My mom says she couldn’t get me to do anything but colour when I was a little kid.

Making a habit of drawing is the ONLY way to get there, but fortunately it IS extremely fun.

I too wish I drew better – but as I tell my GT students creativity is not about drawing – it’s about ideas and you have great creativity! I love your blog and have forwarded several entries on to friends and family. Thank you for introducing me to Franke James. I will be sharing several of these post with my GT students next year!

wooooot! Me… I want to draw stuff as pretty and communicative as Sacha Chua’s doodles. :)

I’m getting better at drawing, and I enjoy it more. =) Funny how that works out! I doodle during slow moments in meetings, and I experiment with interesting things to draw for presentations…

jehzlau: Drawing is fun to learn. Enjoy!

Wow that’s great! I think I’m getting better as well. Look at how I improved my Blue Stickman doodles from year 2008 to year 2009. :D

And oh, please feel free to criticize my doodles so that I can improve my work. ^__^

<laugh> Your drawings are terrific, and they fit into your site very well. Do you have a blog post about how you draw (and how you customize the font on your blog to match)? =) If not, you should write about that!

woooooooot! Great post idea! I don’t have a post about it yet. O__O. I draw using my laptop’s trackpad, sometimes with my desktop’s mouse :D

I created my own TTF and used it in my blog. :D A lot of websites posted about it already of how to use custom fonts in your website, but I guess I will write about it as well. The new font style in my blog’s post titles (Jehzlau Concepts True Type Font) was just implemented yesterday. Haha :D

I’m actually writing a post about my new custom font now.. :P

True, but it’s always good to hear, of the many different ways you’ve tried, which works well for you. =)

I’ve been meaning to make a font sometime, too…

Yay! great! My post for ways to create custom fonts is almost finish! Looking forward for you to be my first reader, as my readers in the Philippines are asleep right now. Hahaha :D
