DocV story during defense

"So about the technical side... How much did you do?"
"It's kinda short."
"Is that it?"
"It's in LISP."
"I wrote a LISP program in graduate school - some kind of rule thing. I wrote the same program in C a year later. The C program was two, three thousand lines. The LISP program? One page. Anyway, I have no more questions about the technical side."

Doc Luis story during defense

"I installed Emacs on Windows once just so that I could use TeX. See, I was using TeX in Unix, and I rather liked it. But then I used Word instead... to write the TeX files, so I'd save it as plain text! At least it had the pretty fonts and stuff."
