Finally! Internet! (August 4, 2005, 0) - I had been grumbling about it for all of five minutes as I fiddled
about with various settings, finding it completely unfair that newer
residents got hooked up to the Internet in _one_ day, whereas I’ve
been waiting for _three weeks!_
My roommate helpfully noted that she’d had connection difficulties
before. Apparently, the jacks in our room were miswired. I
Lessons from work (November 18, 2003, 0) - According to JM Ibanez:
1) Always bring a jacket, or at least wear something warm. I got one of
the worst cubicles in the room-- right under the aircon vent. And now,
I'm typing this while I'm freezing my ass off. And I'm shivering.
2) Keep a notebook to jot down stuff. Especially any expenses you incur.

CompSAt (June 27, 2003, 0) - Talked to some of the CompSAt people regarding an upcoming computer
camp. Their initial plan was a pretty straightforward Java cram
session. Suggested more fun and exciting things. Also, got to talk a
fair bit about computer science and real life, including searching and
sorting algorithms. (Aha! moment for other people). Talked a bit about
issues like piracy and open
I love to make people’s lives better (January 17, 2007, 0) - Last night, I insisted that my mom stop working. I wanted her to be
able to spend some relaxed time with my dad, who’s recovering from an
operation. The mood in the house had been a little tense, and my mom
was frowning at her computer again. She was answering e-mail; nothing
that couldn’t wait until the next day.
