Growing up (June 26, 2010, 0) - One of the best things about growing up must be examining your childhood assumptions and realizing that you’ve outgrown them.
When we were growing up, my eldest sister and I were more academically inclined than my middle sister Kathy was. Kathy hated math.
Fast-forward to now. Kathy’s acing her MBA classes, tackling finance courses head-on. She also
scrabble game (March 20, 2003, 0) - Just finished two games of Scrabble. The first I played with Mom and my sister Kathy. Mom nearly outscored me despite having come in halfway through the game. She couldn’t join us for the second game, though, so it was just Kathy and me. I managed to get a 7-letter word on the board –

My sister Kathy taught me how to do poi for fun. =) It’s a nifty hobby, and one I always joke about as an alternative career. I like being able to delight people with it, and it’s also nice losing myself in the music’s rhythm… Poi is quite a workout, too!

Lucas (November 14, 2009, 2) - I remember when Lucas entered our lives. My sister had been staying late at the zoo, taking care of a sick foal. My father insisted that she have someone or something for company and protection. A big black dog, perhaps.
What did my sister go and do? She got a black Labrador puppy. Labradors can’t help
Poi (June 27, 2004, 0) - Just got back from Roxas Boulevard and my first stint as an apprentice
arsonist. My sister Kathy did her first public
performance of poi with her new Wolf’s Revenge fire poi set. Wonderful
stuff, although the cable wrapped around her skin at one point,
causing a small first-degree burn.
I’ve more or less figured out the weave pattern, although I
