My hard disk is Not Happy!

I restored my contacts file from the automatic numbered backups that
Emacs keeps. Still, all evidence points to very quiet filesystem
corruption. I'm going to have to do a filesystem check later… I've
been segfaulting all over the show lately, and that's just WEIRD.
